Literary Development Group

Experience counts at RLDG.

All RLDG staff, associates, & consultants are citizens of & resident in the United States. In future, clients in other areas of the world will be able to deal with editors in their own region, thus ensuring that rates are tailored as much as possible to the local economy. Every RLDG editor meets & maintains our high standards, & all projects are directly overseen by the core RLDG management to guarantee client satisfaction.

The range of professional experience in RLDG is great, & expanding. Our staff members' background includes:

  • daily newspaper copy desk
  • FDA submissions (pharmaceutical, implant, & devices)
  • small-circulation magazines
  • corporate & organization newsletters
  • biotechnology
  • fiction & narrative
  • economics & sociometrics
  • curriculum development
  • book design & typography

The RLDG fee structure.

Corporate accounts: RLDG sets its highest priority for publishers. For these valued clients, we bill at $125/hour. This rate guarantees multiple internal checks of the project for uniformity & consistency, with regular client consultation as the project progresses. Interim & final proofs are transmitted to the client in electronic, disk, & paper formats, with full tracking of changes that have been introduced by RLDG.

Individual authors: RLDG accepts contracts from writers, as well as literary agents who wish to improve the saleability of client manuscripts. For these clients, we bill at the rate of $43/hour, reflecting the lighter demand upon our resources. RLDG consults with the individual client at the half-way point, & offers the final manuscript in both electronic & disk form.

Generally, RLDG is not oriented toward projects shorter than book-length. However, we do occasionally (as time permits) assist in the creation of pamphlets & catalogues, overhaul Web pages, & provide editing for articles. Please contact us for further information if this applies to your needs.
